About the course
Acting classes, rehearsals & performances will be in English for the performance from 28 February to 2 March 2025.
The basics will also be taught in English!
For those who have a better command of English, the English tuition is very important. This is a class where you will create a play entirely in English, even during rehearsals, so you will be able to experience the performance while acquiring real basic skills, truly killing two birds with one stone.
Acting first!
Even if you are not confident in your acting or singing skills, we will carefully practice and teach you. (Even if you are not confident in your acting or singing, we will carefully train and teach you (please practice on your own too).

Acting level: Beginner to advanced
English level: Intermediate to Advanced
クラスについて
2025年2月28日から3月2日の本番を目指して英語で演技指導・稽古＆の上演を行います。
基礎のマスターも英語で！
英語のほうが得意な方には、英語でのレッスン指導が非常に重要です。稽古中も含めすべて英語で1本の芝居を作り上げていくクラスなので、本格的な基礎力を身につけつつ上演まで経験できる、まさに一石二鳥のクラスになります。
まずは演技で！
演技や歌に自信がなくても丁寧に稽古、指導を行ってまいります。（自主練習もお願いしますね）みんなで楽しい稽古、公演を目指します。

ロックグループ「ゴダイゴ」のヒット曲の作詞を手がける。 ニューヨークのネイバーフッド・プレイハウスで演技を学び、1980年にミュージカル『HAIR』で本格的な演出家としてのキャリアをスタートさせる。 1986年、UPSアカデミーの前身である「UPSアクティングセミナー」を設立。演出した舞台「THE WINDS OF GOD」は、日本のみならず、ロサンゼルス、ニューヨーク、国連などでも上演されている。 現在はキャスティングディレクターとして活躍し、『ラストサムライ』『SAYURI』『BABEL』（2006年カンヌ映画祭監督賞受賞）『THE END OF WAR』『ウルヴァリン：SAMURAI』『GIRI／HAJI』『MINAMATA』『SUNNY（A24ストリーミングTVシリーズ）』の日本人キャスティングを、また、最新作の「TOUCH」では女優として出演も果たしている。
上演作品：「HEAVEN CAN WAIT」
Synopsis.
Joe, a boxer, is involved in a car accident. He finds himself in the afterlife and learns from his guardian angel that he has been taken from his body to the afterlife earlier than planned due to a ‘mistake’. However, Joe’s body had already been cremated and he is unable to return to his own body. He is then persuaded to take the body of Farnsworth, a greedy millionaire businessman who was just about to be assassinated. Joe accepts and comes back to life as Farnsworth.
The people who tried to kill him are surprised to find him alive and well, and Farnsworth’s (Joe) domestic staff are puzzled by the change in his habits and tastes. Joe falls in love with environmental activist Betty Logan in the course of his philanthropic work as a millionaire, while trying to return to the profession he loved as Farnsworth. However, Farnsworth’s body was only temporary and Joe had to give it up. This time Joe gets Tom’s body, but he has lost the memories he made in Farnsworth.
Then one day, Tom (Joe) meets a disappointed Betty. The two, who do not know each other, seem to recognise each other somehow, but they do not know why. The two find the light of love between their hopes and fears.
あらすじ
ボクシング選手だったジョーは自動車事故に遭遇する。気が付くとそこは死後の世界で、守護天使から「手違い」で予定より早く死後の世界へ肉体から連れ去られてしまったことを知る。 しかし、ジョーの体はすでに火葬されていたため、自分の体に戻ることができない。 そこで、ちょうど暗殺されようとしていた強欲な大富豪の実業家ファンズワースの遺体を引き取るよう説得される。 ジョーはそれを受け入れファンズワースとしてよみがえる。
彼を殺そうとした人々は彼が健在であることに驚き、ファンズワース(ジョー)の家事スタッフは彼の習慣や嗜好の変化に戸惑う。 ジョーはファンズワースとして好きだった職業に戻ろうとしながらも、大富豪としての慈善活動をするなかで環境活動家のベティ・ローガンと恋に落ちる。 しかし、ファンズワースの肉体は一時的なものであったため、ジョーはその肉体を手放すことになる。 そうしてこんどはジョーはトムの体を得るが、ファンズワースでできた記憶は失ってしまっている。
そんなある日、トム(ジョー)は失意のベティと出会う。知り合いではない二人は何となくお互いを認識しているように見えるが、どうしてなのかはわからない。二人は、希望と恐れのはざまで愛の光を見つけ出していく。

1, Joe Pendleton (male, in his 20s or 30s) The role of a boxer athlete who gets involved in all sorts of mayhem because of the mistakes of his heavenly guide. Based on a boxer athlete, but does not need to have boxing experience to be able to exercise. Young, energetic men are required.
2，Jordan (any age, any gender) The angel chief who deals with various events for Joe and tells him how wonderful love is.
3, Messenger 7013 (any age, any gender) Angel in charge of Joe. When she discovers that she was called to heaven 60 years early due to a mistake, she manages to cope with the situation while being scolded by the chief angel and annoyed by Joe.
4, Julia Farnsworth (female in her 20s-30s) Farnsworth’s wife; has an affair with Tony.
5, Tony Abbott (male, 20s-30s) Farnsworth’s secretary; good friends with Julia.
6, Bette Logan (female, 20s-30s) comes to correct Farnsworth’s wrongdoings but is attracted to him.
7，Max Levene (male, 40s to 60s) Trainer to Joe’s best friend.

We will take into account the size of the role depending on the number of days you will be absent.
★Please note that the cost of costumes, props, set work and materials is not included. (You will be asked to provide your own costumes and props).

Group B = 5 sub-cast members → ¥132,000 incl. tax
Group C = 6 under-studies and ensembles → JPY 118,800 incl. tax

The ticket price will be 2,000 yen for a paid ticket.
The money will be returned in full to the performers.
For this reason, you can either distribute the tickets for free or receive the money yourself.
The number of tickets per casting group is
Main – 17 tickets per person
Sub- 14 tickets per person
Ensemble- 12 tickets per person
Total for the cast: 261 tickets (9 seats are spare)
This means that if participants sell out their allocated tickets, the actual course fee will be
Main→ 158,400 yen → 34,000 yen minus 124,400 yen
Sub→ 132,000 yen → 28,000 yen minus 104,000 yen
Ensemble→ 118,800 yen→ 24,000 yen minus 94,800 yen
